It’s clean now
I’m a little jealous.

$150 USD, it’d probably scrap for twice as much.

Maybe, but scrap is still really weak up here. For a while you were lucky if they hauled a car away for free.

I'll offer $500 for it.

Easily worth 5x as much in parts then.

For that little cash I’d even risk being seen in a short box truck.
For their sake I hope it’s mechanically and fiscally sound going forwards.

How many kms on it again?

That’s a lot of truck for $200, especially with a proper detail. Good job on giving it the love it deserves (and probably doubling its value).

Thats a lotta vehicle for $200 CAD! I’m jealous as well.

Wow, any working pick-up truck in Socal would be worth at least $1,500. I’m taking about 90's era Ford Rangers with faded paint and interior sell for that much. Mainly because in our area, old cars don’t ever rust, so they hold there value as long as they are mechanically sound.
A F150 of that generation, even with it’s problems and mileage would easily sells for a $2,500 - $3,500 range.
With the 4.6L with no engine issues and nothing big, probably $5,000 plus around these parts.

Yeah, probably has less rust then they would off the car carrier in Saskatchewan

Do you have to do an emissions test?

I mean as long is it works for a few months I’d say it’s a decent deal. 6 months to a year out of it is a real good deal, and anything beyond that is just cheating

Nope, just exorbitant insurance

280k I believe

On Craigslist I would expect this to be at least a $20 00 truck. The 5.4 hurts the value, but not so much that $200 is normal

Sure, this truck is a sweetheart deal, not representative. $200 is about 3 tanks of gas for that truck here.

Not at all. He basically gave it away of his own free will. If this was an injured pupper you’d be all up in arms for the new owner.

Hell of a deal any way you look at it, i n my book.

Wow, not bad. It’s easily worth a lot more now:

wonder how compression is with those miles?

Probably not brilliant, but now that we’ve learned more about this engine, we won’t bother finding out. He’s just gonna run this as is until it blows, and then we’ll backyard swap a junkyard engine in or something

Nice!
